B-complex vitamins help alleviate nausea and boost energy levels in the first trimester of pregnancy.

Dosage:

Take one tablet daily with or after a meal.

Target patients:

  • Three months prior to conception and First trimester of pregnancy to help prevent neural tube defects in the foetus.
  • Persons with elevated homocysteine levels and for cardiovascular health.
  • Persons who are on an oral contraceptive, anti-depressant, anti-epileptic, or methotrexate as they tend to have reduced folic acid and
  • B-complex stores in their bodies.

Suitable for use by vegetarians.

The World Health Organisation recommends that two months prior to conception and for the first trimester of pregnancy, women should supplement with 400 μg of folic acid daily, except when there is a history of a previous neural tube defect, miscarriage, diabetes or the person is on anti-epileptic medication, then a higher dosage is recommended.
